Hi all,
We've just made available the beta of Yetishare v6 via your account on yetishare.com. If you login and you're still within support, you'll see the link to download.
You can see it up and running here:

(login with user: 'admin' & pass: 'Password@Demo')
Overview of changes:
Yetishare v6 beta is our biggest update in years, introducing Nova, a brand-new front-end theme with a fast, modern file manager, folder uploads, full-screen previews, download bundles, light and dark mode, in-app notifications, and full mobile support. The admin area has also been completely redesigned with a cleaner interface, improved file management, and new appearance options.
This release also delivers major improvements behind the scenes, including a more secure web/ document root, updated dependencies with PHP 8.1+ support, improved performance for larger sites, static thumbnail serving, and a new bundled payment plugin that replaces the previous gateway plugins.
As a beta release, v6.0.0 is intended for testing in non-production environments. Customers with an active Yetishare support period can download it now, and we'd love to hear your feedback as we work towards the final release.
Can I use the beta on my live website?
No. It's not ready for any live sites yet as it's beta code. We can not offer support on live sites and as the code it still in beta, it may break things if used on your live site. This code is for testing only.
How to install or upgrade:
Upload the /install folder to your website and load yoursite.com/install. We're happy to help if you get stuck.
How to submit beta feedback:
Any feedback or bug reports are welcome via the forum thread linked below.
Feel free to also send your feedback via the support ticketing system. We'll not be adding any new features to this release but if there's bugs to fix we'll be keen to get them resolved before moving out of beta.
When will this be on final release?
It's planned we'll be in beta for 1 month then go into final release.
What about the paid plugins?
These are also available within your account if you're still in support.
What's happening to the v5.x release?
We're still supporting security updates and fixes to this version, so there's no rush to move to v6. The Spirit theme is now replaced by Nova in v6, so going forward we'll not be maintaining Spirit in new releases.
Release Notes for v6:
This is a major release focused on a new front-end theme, a complete admin-area redesign, a hardened document-root layout, and a full dependency/security refresh.
New "Nova" front-end theme:
- Brand-new bundled front-end theme, "Nova", built with Alpine.js + native ES modules for fast file browsing
- Rebuilt file manager: grid/list views, folder tree, breadcrumbs, drag-to-folder, multi-select, create/rename/move/copy/delete
- Folder upload, drag-and-drop, and remote URL - with inline background URL-download uploads
- Full-screen file preview with Details / Stats / Activity panels, inline edit, and "similar files"
- "Download bundle" - select multiple files/folders and download them together
- Thumbnail loading queue for faster, smoother file listings on image-heavy folders
- Light/dark mode with selectable colour schemes, saved as a per-user preference
- File-only view for guest users
- In-app notifications for users (now part of the core theme)
- Complete guest download pipeline rebuilt (simple timed, compare timed, compare all, file info, captcha) with a native countdown - no jQuery
- Auth flows rebuilt (login, 2FA, register/complete, forgot/confirm/reset) with non-JS fallbacks
- Account settings tabs (Account / Security / Settings / API)
- Preview "details pane" in the file manager for quick file information
- Added option to set folder colours within the file manager
- Added chunk upload support to API upload endpoint
Front-end (general):
- Added dynamically generated /sitemap.xml and /robots.txt for SEO (config and plugin-aware; private/admin URLs excluded)
- Added folder search within the file manager
- Improved breadcrumb navigation and language-selection UI
- Unified login and password-recovery logic for more consistent behaviour
Admin Area (complete redesign):
- Full admin-area re-design - new collapsible dual-rail sidebar, icons, cards, and a modernised shell
- New Appearance settings: light/dark theme mode, primary colour, light/dark colour schemes, and card skin
- Rebuilt data tables: server-side processing, autocomplete filters, saved filter state (persisted in cookies), loading spinners, and cleaner pagination/page-size controls
- Files are now edited on a dedicated file view/edit page (replacing the old modal) with a preview + summary sidebar and tabs for Info, History, Stats, Artifacts, and Access Restrictions, plus keyword tagging
- Reusable confirm modals, toast notifications, and autocomplete components across the admin area
- Sharing management with a date picker and improved filters
- Improved dashboard, advertising settings UI, and global admin search
- Added admin area section to send internal notifications to users
Architecture, security & performance:
- Document root relocated to a dedicated web/ directory - _config.inc.php, app/ source, vendor/, logs/ and the private cache/ are no longer web-reachable (major security hardening)
- Plugin/theme public assets are now published into web/assets/ on install/enable
- Generated thumbnails/previews are written under web/cache and served as static files after first generation, significantly reducing PHP load on file-heavy pages
- Full dependency/security remediation: migrated Twig 2 to 3, migrated to Guzzle 7, patched the AWS SDK, and cleared all outstanding advisories; a dependency advisory-block policy is now enforced
- Minimum PHP raised to 8.1+
- Session-handling and translation-cache improvements
- Performance work across download tracking, statistics/template helpers, account file statistics and folder listings, plus new database indexes for large sites
- Removed the legacy Evolution theme
Plugins:
- Payment Gateways (major consolidation)
- The 21 native gateway plugins and the Omnipay payment plugin are merged into a single driver-based "Payment" plugin and included with the core script
- New admin option to reorder configured gateways; the checkout/upgrade page lists them in that order
- Legacy webhook/IPN URLs (//payment_ipn) continue to work via aliases, so existing gateway configurations keep functioning
Release notes: This release is a major upgrade to the codebase. To upgrade existing installs, please see the "Upgrade" tab in the /install/ folder.
Thanks for your continued support!
Regards,
Adam.
