In this tutorial we will learn how to add a file server
In the admin section, click on "File Servers", here you can view the different file servers you have
Click on the "Add File Server" button
Here you have three different types of file servers. To start with, we will choose "Local"
Here you need to add a "Server Label" which is just the name you will give a particular file server,
and the "Storage Path" if different. Once done, click the "Add File Server" button
Now we will add an FTP file server. Again click "Add File Server", but this time select the "FTP" from the options
Here you will need to do the same actions as adding a "Local" file server, but also adding your FTP details.
Click "Add File Server"
Now we will learn how to add a "Remote Direct" file server. Click on "Add File Server" and select "Remote Direct" from the options
Various aspects are the same such as "Server Label" and "File Storage Path". You will also need to set your "File Server Domain Name", this can be a sub domain on your main site.
In "Remote Direct" file servers you have an option to use the main site URL or use the file server URL. This can be selected by as shown in the example
Once done, you will need to follow the steps explained in the "Code Setup" including uploading the code to your file server
Click on "_config.inc.php" to download the file. This must then be uploaded to your new file server via your FTP client.
You must then do the same with the ".htaccess" file
Make sure that the "File Storage Path" has write permissions. Once done, click "Add File Server"
Please note: In order to use a file server you must activate it first. Click on "Site Configuration" then under "default_file_server" click edit, then choose which file server you want to use.
